Boot Camp Week #5 Victories!

I can hardly believe Monday starts week #6 of the Trotfitness challenge! This week has been a good one for the most part. I walked the kids around town and to the park. I was very careful with what I ate. Even when at a Bible study I attended on Friday, the snack was glazed doughnuts...I normally would've eaten 2 without thinking twice. The new me chose the other healthy options, passing on the delicious-looking doughnuts altogether.
My friend Tracy told me that she has now joined Trotfitness, and started TODAY!!!! I could hard believe it, I was so excited to know that someone I knew would be there with me every day! I noticed she had a doughnut in her hand, and I said, "should you be eating that then!?" She laughed and said, "I don't do assessments and weigh in until tomorrow!" LOL. (I hope you are laughing as you read this, Tracy, because I AM so proud of you!) :)
When I told my husband that "it didn't seem fair" , to which he replied, "What? it's not fair that they are putting crap into their bodies and you are not?" HHmmmm, I hadn't thought of it that way! I so appreciate all of you who have emailed me saying that your "snack-lives" and/or fitness efforts have changed because you have partnered with me on this journey to new habits and healthy living. (Jen, Joy, Sarah, Diane, Tash, ......I'm so proud of all of you!)
As for today's work-out and weigh, I am glad to say I lost SIX POUNDS!! I have also changed one whole clothing size. WooHoo!
I thank Jesus for giving me the strength to face my fears and fight this battle. So many people think of losing weight as a "looks thing", wishing they looked a little nicer in their clothes and never give a thought to the fact that health is not just about looking good. It's about honoring God with the only body we have, and taking care of what He has given us. Some people are more particular about what they put into their cars and homes then they are about what they put into their own bodies.
Just knowing how long I need to work-out in order to burn off a soda or doughnut, makes me think long and hard when I choose what to eat/drink!
It's a paradigm shift, for sure. I've said it before, but with the kind of couch potato I've been all these years, if I can change my health around, trust me- YOU CAN TOO!!!
