Freedom Salute

Tonight was the "freedom salute ceremony" for the HHC 3/103rd AR guardsmen who recently returned from the deployment to Afghanistan.

Valerie Harris has been, and is, one of my closest friends through the military. Her son JT, was born a few weeks after Clayton, and we have many things in common to share, especially while our husbands were deployed.

A Day with Granny Plank

We surprised Granny with a visit yesterday. She had no idea we were coming, and we arrived right at noon with lunch. She was so happy to see her "little man" (as she calls Clayton.) We really had a great & relaxing day. (as always)

I was starting to feel sorry for myself after seeing this picture, until a friend reminded me to remember what I was thankful for. There is always someone worse off than you, and God has blessed us SO much! Although I'd love to have this tree in my yard, I will be content in whatever state I am in...

Praise the Lord!

Our coal stove has been broke down for a week now, and our house has been SO COLD. I checked the one day, and the downstairs at least, was only 38*!!! BRRR! Fortunately we have some space heaters, and alternate heat upstairs, so we just stayed up there to play, eat & everything!
Andy had tried to work on the stove several times, but couldn't get it to work. Last night he decided he was going to take it all apart, because it couldn't get any worse anyway. It took him many hours, but he found the problem, fixed the part, and now he have a warm house again!!! I am so proud of him for figuring it out on his own! This is a huge answer to prayer, and I will not take a warm house for granted again!

16 Week OB Appointment

Today was my 16-week OB appointment, and everything went good. I asked my Dr. about my headaches, and he said it is hormone-related, to bear with it. My blood pressure was much better than last time, and I've only gained 7lbs. Heartbeat was strong at 150.
I am thankful for the good reports.
