Clayton's results:

The pediatrician told me that Clayton was totally fine! I am still confused, but going to take his word for it. He said the white poop is not the flu or anything to do with the liver since Clayton's liver is not enlarged, and he is not jaundiced. I am thankful for that! He said "it must just be how Clayton is digesting his food this week." So, false alarms are a good thing in this case!

Read with Caution

Clayton has had light-colored/white poop (for lack of a better word) for 3 days now. When I googled it online, I was terrified to read that it is liver-related. I called the doctor, and they said it could also be a flu or virus. I am trying so hard not to worry about this until I get him checked out by his pediatrician. This is a chart I found online. (Like I said, read at your own risk)

~Tarry black poop, your baby's first poop, is called meconium. You'll never see it again once it passes.
~Mustard poop is common for breastfed babies. Supposedly breastfed babies make sweeter smelling poop. I don't know about you, but I've yet to meet a poop I'd call sweet.
~Green poop is normal in the realm of baby poop. "Green", "poop", and "normal" all in one sentence. It's so surreal.
~Orange poop is also par for the course. I don't know if it's a par 3 or par 4. It's definitely not a birdie.
~Yellow poop - hello yellow! (It's late, I'm tired, and I'm running out of cutesy ideas.) Yellow is normal.
~Multiple color and color-changing poop - as long as the colors are listed above (sans meconium reference), there's nothing to worry about. Baby poop changes colors on a frighteningly regular basis.

~***Chalky white poop could indicate that there is no bile from the liver to digest food. Call the doc.

~Tarry black poop, when NOT the first poop, could mean there is blood in the digestive tract. Call the doc.
~Bright red blood in poop means blood has been expressed very close to the anus (i.e. no time to turn black.) Call the doc.

It's Time...

...to put my maternity clothes in my closet! A few weeks ago, I dug out the bin with my maternity stuff in it, but now it's time to open the bin, and make use of them! In a few days, I'll be 16 weeks, and my waistline will thank me for the knit, elastic & paneled relief! :)

Peppers & Hearts

Andy made pickled chicken hearts today in this huge jar.

While I stuffed hot peppers with ham & cheese, then added them to olive oil & seasonings!

Clayton in the Coal

I found Clayton in the filthy coal bucket when he got mysteriously quiet in the living room.

"Am I in trouble, Mommy?"

Hhmmm...she is taking pictures, so she must think this is cute.

Clayton trying to escape Mommy...

...until he hears Mommy calling his name!

A Park Day in February!!!

Today was so nice and warm, that I decided to take Clayton to the park after his nap. It turned out to be SO MUCH FUN for both of us. He loved playing, and I was glad for some outside exercise!

We had a great picnic lunch!

He is just getting ready to swing.

He really loved the swing! It was his favorite activity!

What a beautiful day for a motorcycle ride.

Seeing Mommy on the other side of the tunnel! :)

I love how colorful everything looks even though the sky is drab!

Clayton the Director

Clayton's big thing now, is to direct music with his hand & arm. He has always loved music, and now when his Cd player is on, or we sing in church he waves away!
Here, I am simply singing to him, and he is directing like he has a big audience. What a cheese!

Getting tired out now.

Clayton's 1-Yr. Check-up

Questions I was interested to know-
1. How much does he weigh, & how tall?
A- 23.12 lbs. (he lost some weight), 32.25" tall (still the same)
2. What can I give this child since Milk was a disaster-Soy? Lactose-free Milk?
A-either Soy or Lactose-free Milk is fine.
3. How many meals should he be eating-he's random at this point.
A-He's on track. 12-36 month old children eat in spurts according to how they are growing at the time.

Clayton is a very healthy boy, and for that, I am so thankful!!!

13 Weeks and Showing

2nd Trimester~HERE I COME~!!! This is the most "enjoyable" phase of being pregnant, for me anyway. The sickness is gone, the exhaustion is wearing off, and I am starting to feel more energetic and excited about this precious life inside me! I really don't like to have pictures of me like this, but I did it for Clayton (for his journal/baby book), so it's only fair to Baby #2 to take preggo pictures this time too.

Not sure why this one is fuzzy....oh well.

Coal Miner Daddy

Clayton waiting for Daddy to come home...

Daddy's home! And look at his face!!! Clayton doesn't mind.

Clayton with his dirty face after Daddy's kisses.

Then Daddy takes out the hot cinders with his oven mitts...

Playing together is most fun, even with dirty faces.
